Arrived on a Sunday afternoon with lots of people and that's a good sign. Excellent fried chicken, flavorful and moist. Comfort Mac & cheese with classic green beans. We took the food to go, but looked great. On top of that I met Val and she was welcoming and personable. I'm going back soon.
Absolutely amazing food with a kind owner and staff. Definitely needs to be on a top ten Lynchburg list. Can't beat good food served by good people.
Val's is a diamond in the rough, outstanding, awesome personal service and exceptional people. We enjoyed her Sunday buffet today and were blown away by her amazing love for cooking and service to others. We recommend her place to all.
We were in the area for a basketball tournament and one of the boys picked Val's because it was close by. Val herself welcomed us in and gave us an overview of how the buffet works on Sundays. There is a cold salad bar and the hot bar where there are several meat selections and sides, cooked fresh that morning. I had the cream of mushroom smothered pork chop, green beans, and Mac and cheese. It was all SO delicious! Our boys ate well between some tough competition and ended up winning the championship in their division, maybe a belly full of delicious food carried them through. Thanks for the hospitality, wonderful service, fellowship and warm welcome.
Everyone listen up, you need to go to this place! It was amazingly good and the staff is so very sweet and personable. We felt like we had been going there for years by the way they all treated us, especially Val! The meat loaf is awesome! Make sure you leave room for dessert! Every cake is good (we know because we tried them all!)
